New model vehicles are test-driven around city streets and freeways before the official release. All badges are removed and the vehicles are wrapped in camo. GM uses alternate black and white panels as their camo, Ford and Chrysler use optical illusion wrap (like zebra stripes). If you saw these vehicles on the street you would think it was just a weird paint job but those of us in the industry know what we’re looking at.

Back when the WV turnpike was 2-lane, Wife and I were doing a too-long relay drive towards PGH. At dawn I saw what I’m sure was a red double-decker London bus in the Lexington-bound lane. No drugs or alcohol were involved, but it was a very long night.
