I have not spouted this for a while but really: if you want to use a gun to defend yourself in your own home, then I guess that is your good right and nobody is coming to take that right away.

But if you think you can just go out and purchase the skills set needed to face an active shooter situation over the counter at the local sporting goods store, then you are terribly wrong: you need nerves of steel, good situational awareness and years of training and experience in order to not be a bigger danger to others than you are to the shooter.
