I love how Krauthammer takes what the GOP is doing to itself— bitter infighting— and blames it on Obama.

Such nonsense abounds because Obama’s objective in these negotiations is not economic but political: not to solve the debt crisis but to fracture the Republican majority in the House. Get Boehner to cave, pass the tax hike with Democratic votes provided by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and let the Republican civil war begin.

It’s classic GOP projection. The GOP is at war with itself, as a few semi-sane people realize the Ayn Rand economics they’ve been pushing are starting to make people hate them. The GOP leadership is pushing out the fanatics, and somehow this is Obama’s fault, Obama’s conspiracy.

And the GOP has used every single ‘showdown’ with the White House to achieve political, not economic goals— they have outright stated that, during the last session, their goal was to limit Obama to one term— and yet it is Obama who is disingenuous, those poor GOPers are just trying to fix the economy.

Pathetic projection. I wonder if he even knows he’s doing it.
