When I was a kid, when I first heard of a man who felt like he was supposed to be a woman, I thought the description given by this person did not fit what I thought ‘womanhood’ meant. When I grew older, I figured out it was not for me to define what it means. We’re all different.

That’s the step the binary-thinking males can’t take. They feel it is up to them to define and enforce manhood. Anyone who disagrees is defined as sick.

I think I ran across the quote here, but why is it that people who totally fail to understand what terms like manhood/womanhood, patriotism or faith mean are the ones who cling most tenaciously to the arbitrary and superficial symbols we attach to those categories? (guns, beards, flag lapel pins, crucifixes, etc…)
