When I was very young, I watched as the whole sordid Watergate story unfolded on daytime TV. I am getting such a sense of dejavu.

I would not be surprised to learn that members of Trump’s team were involved, or at least knew about the Russian hacks at the time. Maybe even Trump himself.

Big question…would Republicans today let the facts lead where they may, even if it meant impeachment? The Watergate committee hearings were compelling and honorable. Kudos to Howard Baker(R) and Sam Ervin(D) for placing the truth above party.

No they won’t. Their whole issue since the movement to impeach President Nixon has been nothing more than payback, even if they have to take the whole country down to do it.

Hence the allegations against Ronald Reagan going behind Jimmy Carter over the Iran hostage problem, going after Bill Clinton for his scandal with Monica Lewinsky (even though the GOP people involved were doing the wild thing outside marriage themselves), the thirty year campaign against Hillary Clinton, skewing all liberals as anti-American … .
