Not signing it could just be an oversight. Not signing it and not recording the transaction is suspicious. Not signing it, not recording it and still stamping it with two signature lines left blank and not noting that those particular lines are being excluded from the notarization is a giant red flag.

Not so much a Red Flag for nefarious activity, but basically just an indicator of haste & sloppiness.

That being said, my own experience with judges on the higher benches is that they can give you that look over their reading glasses when you bring some flimsy Settlement Agreement and General Release into their court, and try to insist that despite misspelling the name of the Plaintiff throughout, and getting the dates wrong by one year, that the document should still be enforceable.

There’s usually an embarassed moment of silence after you finish begging the court to overlook the now-clear fact that you’re a dumbass who really shouldn’t be practicing law. Papers shuffle. The bailiff stifles a belch. Somewhere off in the distance, you think, people are happy, going about their lives.
