re: #194 Targetpractice

Because she’s not in control, she’s simply refusing to do her own job. Just as Moscow Mitch is by refusing to allow House bills to come to a vote. We have a total lack of leadership in both houses of Congress.

The Republican caucus, in both House and Senate, is a highly regimented hierarchy and the members do as they’re told. The Democratic caucus, in both House and Senate, is a collection of individuals with their own minds and their own decision-making authority. Trying to make “them” do something unified is like trying to herd cats. Nancy can read the room, predict their choices, occasionally sprinkle a little catnip here and there to encourage them, but she’s not THE BOSS of her caucus like McCarthy is THE BOSS of his.

(btw, it’s totally a coincidence that McCarthy is named McCarthy… if I were a screenwriter creating today’s House, my producer would say that’s just too anvilicious and would make me change the character’s name).
