Confession time. When I’m out walking with Teddy, I let him off his leash as long as no one else is around. I’ve trained him to come to me to get back on his leash when some one comes into range.

The best behaved dog I ever saw out on the trail was happily trotting along off leash, and the instant he saw us coming towards him, he sat down and waited for his owner to snap his leash on and then they proceeded past us.
