re: #189 Irish Rose

Back from researching the growth habits of the globe artichoke.
Quiet thread this morning.

Hoops, an addition to your prayer list.

I have a loved one who has been out of work now for almost 2 years. He’s a highly certified IT pro, raising his son alone since the boys’ mother passed away. Years of diligent saving and unemployment has made it possible for them to survive this long without dad working, but it’s come down to the wire now and he’s faced with having to abandon his career for a low wage job so that they can survive, if he can even find one. It’s a very difficut time for them.

Please keep them on the list until he finds a job.

Just a bit of information, something that your loved one may or may not know, but he may want to approach the low paying job search withe the understanding that that market is as tight as the IT market, even more so.

As most here know, I am a 25 year IT pro, programmer, and the last two years, I have been working part time minimum wage and I have been trying to find full time minimum wage, and haven’t been able to (Denver area).

I am technically competing against my step daughter, who has been looking for the same sort of work for 3 months, and has not found anything.

My point simply being, it’s tough all around, in all areas of employment.
