I never said it was a trump thing but that story sickened me to my core.

The mother never gave up her rights to her own child. She tried to fight the whole thing and a Missouri judge basically told her to fuck off.

I wouldn’t care if it was 10 or 20 years old. Our Justice system is fucked when it allows that.

I obviously have rise colored glasses in so far as my concept of what America is.

And yet, this is also part of why so many kids never get adopted - why go to the emotional cost of bonding with a child who has spent months/years in the foster system if that child can be ripped away from you at any time?

This is a big reason why we chose to adopt internationally rather than from someone here in the US/Wisconsin. The danger of this kind of lawsuit - the majority of which the birth parent wins - was simply too great.
