re: #202 danarchy

I think it is a matter of perspective. If he was some other 30 year old schmo finally hitting his stride people would be telling stories about perseverance and stuff. He is young enough he could still have 5-10 solid years ahead of him if he continues to play and improve like he has been lately.

Of course the past couple of months could be a fluke and he may fade away. There are plenty of has beens and never will bes in double AA ball,

But is he really hitting his stride? I’ve seen late bloomers before. Nothing really stands out to me. If he makes it to the big league club, at best I think he’ll be an average starter. I mean it’s the Mets’ decision what they decide to do but I really do feel that the job should be going to someone younger. You are right that there’s plenty of has beens and never will bes in AA ball but I think an organization like the Mets should be focused on developing big league talent rather than PR gimmicks. It’s their choice though. Just now how I’d run my club. He is doing pretty impressively. He’s not awful IMO but I just don’t know how I feel about this.
