The biggest problem I see with parliamentary systems is when a party does not get an absolute majority. They then have to dig up coalition partners from minor parties to form a government.
That leaves the majority party beholden to every last demand of the minority partner if they want to remain in government (see: UK with the Conservative Party beholden to the DUP, Israel with Likud beholden to a bunch of minor religious parties, &c)
In effect, the majority party in the coalition then is beholden to the minority party’s voters, not their own voters.
