Who was the first person to eat a lobster? What made them think that thing looked like food?
Sea bugs used to be cheap garbage for poor people. Somewhere along the line rich people figured out it apparently tastes good, and all of a sudden it was a delicacy and the price skyrocketed.
I’m sure a lot of “how did people start eating…” started off as poor people trying anything to not starve.
