Good, you’re at least willing to discuss it. I included the shotguns because many of the mass killers seem to bring them along even if they don’t use them. They might well go there if they couldn’t get the so-called assault rifles.

Some of those are just pump-action models, though. Semi-auto shotguns also have legitimate use in a multiple assailant home-invasion scenario.

So: Registration of semi-auto shotguns, but at the least restrictive ‘Any Other Weapon’ level, with transfer tax of $5. Agreement by various states to permit ownership of at least 1 AOW for home defense. A stockless Mossberg is often just the thing to deal with an armed intruder.
