re: #194 We’re Way Beyond Snark

When I brought Scout the cat home, the Humane Society had told me (they give a little 15-minute talk on the care and feeding of cats, whether you need it or not) that she might hide in the carrier even if it was open, stay there for days and need all sorts of time to adjust to her new surroundings.

So I opened the box in the bathroom (recommended enclosed space). She leaped out instantly, exited the room and started exploring the place at a fast trot, round and round and round. It was exhausting just to look at her.

Since she was at her minimum healthy weight at that time (the fiends at the Humane Society feed their cats an exclusive diet of high-quality cat kibble, which she apparently didn’t much like, so there was not a bit of fat on her), she found several crannies that I had to block off — one I had to rescue her from — and managed to get into a 4-inch space at the top of the closet (9-foot ceiling). That’s why I named her Scout.

One of my cats is named Trouble, because as a kitten he decided to go to sleep behind a huge ass entertainment center and we spent hours looking for him before we bothered to look behind the entertainment center since we didn’t think he could fit back there.
