I’m sure it feels like deja vu for you seeing the same people that embraced Hollywood Reagan over the Sunday School Teacher Carter embracing Trump as this religious hero. That just to me shows how the religious right are some of the most gullible and bigoted godamned fools out there.

That’s because it’s not really about religion. It’s about political power. They are lying and saying it’s about religion. or they are deluded about why they are voting as they do, or they have been manipulated by cynical pundits and politicians to believe they are voting for the correct Christian choice (we’ll skip the idea that should have no bearing on politics for the moment).

Jimmy Carter is a deeply religious and faithful man, far more so than Ronald Reagan was.

While I do not have doubts over what Mitt Romney claims to believe or the depth of his own faith, most Evangelicals despise Mormonism. However, they set aside their despite of Mormonism over the deeply faithful Barack Obama.

Hillary Clinton is also a deeply religious and faithful woman, far more than Donald Trump and his Two Corinthians are.
