I’ve slaughtered so many that I tired of the sport. Dead bird removal became tedious. I made the females priority targets over the males, although at certain times of the year the success of my goal of “2 birds 1 bullet” gave me a certain smug satisfaction.

You’re fighting a losing battle, anyway. There’s way more of them than there are of you.
