im concerned about something else here

- the problem with an eventual diagnosis of dementia or whatever is that it will become an excuse / explanation for everything
- it will elevate trump to a sort of reagan (hell, he’s already the second coming, reagan’s just a saint)

it explains the idiocy - and so they can elect someone like him again, without the worry

similarly, without an actual ‘diagnosis’
- we ‘survive’ trump is also an excuse to vote another one
- “see, how bad can it be; we’re all still here”
- sure there’s lots of damage, but that’s a point of view that lots on the right wouldnt agree with
- then they’ll go “but see, the system survived. so no reason why we cant do it again”

Trump is the pure distillate of a “normal” Republican. He does what they yearn to do.
