Why is the GOP acting exactly like the Chinese Communist Party in covering up and downplaying Coronavirus case numbers?

Not exactlty like the CCP, who covered up the disease at the start, have downplayed numbers and instituted massive measures to stop the disease when the recognised it was serious.

The difference between evil and moronic and evil and smart. The CCP understands that having their population die is a bad thing, the GOP, not so much.
