he brushed aside a ridiculous directive and relied on his own sound judgment.
this is what we need now. sensible, no nonsense people pushing back.

Agreed, but that is cold comfort for the men and women in uniform who are stuck with a CIC who obviously cares more for the “rights” of those who would murder them than he does for their own welfare.
