They still are an enormously respected institution. You don’t respect them. That does not change the actual amount of respect they have.

I have very great difficult treating your concern for civil liberties seriously after you said that national security issues mean that you’ll vote for a social conservative over a Democrat every time.

I told you that’s an easy call, If my number one concern during an election is national security then what other option do I have? All I ever hope for is a divided government with a strong Commander-in-Chief. Here’s something that may come as a surprise to a liberal but the left is just as big of an offender of civil liberties as the right.

BTW, I don’t need you to take my concerns for civil liberties seriously. You aren’t my judge and I don’t plan on changing my beliefs because you don’t think I take them seriously enough. I’ve done my part and will continue to do what I can in my own neighborhood without seeking or needing your approval.
