I fully agree that the problem with PACs isn’t Netflix, and that Anonymous are being spoiled bitches.

But there is no, no, no good data showing that pirating loses companies money. Companies make the assumption that every piece of piracy is a lost sale. That’s obviously wrong, and demonstrably so. There is pretty substantial evidence that pirating actually increases music sales.

Pirating is something that has become useful for industries to blame for lost sales, while ignoring the real reason that customers aren’t buying their stuff.
