I disagree. The smart thing to do, would be to allow them to confirm Garland as quickly as possible. That way one of the liberal justices can leave the court without throwing the majority back to the GOP. In the event that a liberal justice steps down when we’re at a 4-4 tie on the court, I suspect the GOP will be adamant that the voters be given the chance to voice their choice in 2020.
