You seem to be saying we are throwing Samantha under the bus. I don’t think we are. We were hoping she wouldn’t have used the word because of how this is working for Trump and outraged wingnuts.

We are also hoping she doesn’t lose her show over this. That is what “they” want.

I bet if you could ask Samantha about it today she would be in agreement.

The right is a perpetual outrage machine that has the political field covered in their landmines. You just have to watch where you step.

If I am outraged over anything it is the fact that these are the rules of the political wars. Is it fair? Oh hell no. But what has been fair since Trump announced in 2015?

And the media isn’t helping. They love the outrage.

No offense, but substitute “Al” and “he” for “Samantha” and “she,” as well as “word” for “picture” and we’re stuck back earlier this year, hearing the arguments for why a man who had been demonized for a single picture needed to fall on his sword because of the “outrage” it was causing among the media.
