I think it’s just former GOP Congressman. I don’t think he left the GOP. Can’t say I’m shocked by this though. There were rumors about him while he was in Congress. I don’t care what anyone does in their private life but I’m sure there are plenty of clips of him opposing LGBT rights vocally as a member of Congress and that’s not okay.

In the religious people’s eyes, he’s not in Congress, therefore they don’t have to keep him as one of their own. Hence, not a “Republican.”
