… or maybe not. After the Glorious Revolution (1688, I think), Catholics weren’t allowed to hold public office in the colonies, so there weren’t many among the Founding Fathers, but there were a few.
They didn’t much like Baptists, either. The powers that be in the late 1700’s was mostly Anglicans. Or Deists (they believe in a God-the-Creator, but think he stopped meddling in human affairs a few thousand years ago).
