Not really. It’s a pretty bizarre thing to do. He had a reason for doing this interview. It’s very rare for generals to do something like this and it’s a serious breech of protocol.

I agree with you an the protocol - however to suggest that he’s a closet Manchurian Tea-Partier requires a ton of insight that isn’t readily apparent. That’s an awfully far leap to take IMO.
