re: #206 makeitstop
That drives me up the wall.
I’m building a web site for a restaurant outside Philly, and they sent me the Happy Hour menu the other day to convert to PDF. The menu mentioned specials on ‘martini’s’ and ‘$2 off personal pizza’s,’ so I corrected them, made the PDF and put it on the site and emailed my contact person to take a look.
She emailed me back to tell me that ‘pizzas’ and ‘martinis’ were spelled wrong!
And to make matters even worse, the bit about ‘$3 bottled beers’ seemed to be exempt from the apostrophe. Annoying.
God, I see this all time. Makes me crazy. Right up there with “loose” vs “lose”, such as “The Phillies are loosing to the Mets, 28-2.”
What did they say when you pointed out their grammar was wrong?
