He should be blocked because of this, his apparent perjury before the committee and during his previous confirmation hearings, his handling of disability rights, his heartless treatment of Fred Guttenberg, the GOP refusal to allow the committee to review his record as authorized by the National Archives instead of a few documents selected by a friend of his, his deference to Presidential authority for Republican Presidents, his handling of the Clinton impeachment, the bizarre matter of the $200,000 debt etc.

The allegations about his behavior when 17 years old are appalling and should be examined by the committee, but unless there are additional charges, that alone probably shouldn’t derail his confirmation. It’s the rest of his record that should have stopped him before this.
