In my aunt’s old neighborhood, a working class area of small, not-very-old ranch style and “cottagey” homes, one woman had painted her house pink. She was older, and had a very nicely landscaped yard with plenty of flowers, etc. It was very pleasing to my middle-aged eye whenever I passed it. I always wanted to see what the inside looked like. : )

I had a client that painted her house this weird bright cottage blue. It looked really bad. Her response was thank goodness for the pink house about 5 down that took everyone’s eye away from her huge mistake.
