One of my friends is happy that the “neoliberal wing” of the Democratic Party is dead. Now the true progressives can retake the party and lead us to glory. He’s been touting Rep. Ellison for DNC chair. I pointed out that Ellison would be a part-timer (before his recent announcement that he’d resign if made chair). My friend replied that he’d rather have a part-time true progressive than a full-time neoliberal, like Gov. Dean. To his credit he voted for Sec. Clinton in Virginia. But, still.

Wonder if he knows that a lot of the “Neoliberal” Dem establishment is backing Ellison. Honestly, I’m sick of this purity shit about “Neoliberals”, the party is honestly more progressive than it ever has been. Those who look to the 60’s ignore that the party still had Jim Crow believers in it then.
