I think the Republican Congress is paralyzed. They really have no clue what they are doing and how they got to this point.

They aren’t just paralyzed. Impeaching tr*mp and removing him from office is a no-brainer, especially if it is done before splash damage from the tr*mp/Russia investigation visibly hits Pence.

The fact that Congressional Republicans show no signs of taking this obviously necessary step means they own this. The only ‘check and balance’ vs. the president is the Congressional power of impeachment. The 25th amendment is no substitute, since that relies on the cabinet, and said cabinet can be (and presently is) stuffed with grovelers and bootlickers for the president.
