They don’t have any choice. The GOP has become a cult of personality centered on Trump. If they renounce him, their own voters will view them as traitors to Dear Leader, and they will get slaughtered in the election. As long as they stick with Trump through November, 2020, the ones in deep red districts (which is most of whom are left) will survive.

True. But what will they do in the aftermath? Are they just kinda hoping that if Trump loses next year, the Trump personality cult will simply fade away?
