Turns out the Trump gang’s “absolute immunity” case was just as ludicrous as it looked at first glance.
The Court points out that we basically went through this during the Bush Administration when the judiciary committee subpoenaed Harriet Miers (blast from the past!) and they tried to argument absolute immunity then.
But this decision doesn’t go to whether the witness can exert executive privilege in refusing to answer.
Still, it’s about 116 pages of the court telling the DOJ “wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, you are wrong, so so wrong, just wrong.”
