Another reason why I’ll post in Twitter about the Confederacy and their revisionist progeny that they launched an insurrection and secession from the Union to protect their right to own slaves and the institution of slavery.

It should be referred to as the War of Southern Insurrection or War (as far too many in the South consider it the War of Northern Aggression - which itself is a lie as the first shots were fired by the South against the Union at Fort Sumter).

Statues and monuments should be taken down. We don’t give awards for second place losers of a war whose antagonists started to protect the right to own slaves. We don’t fly their flag as a badge of honor. It’s one of shameful history and one that needs to be treated accordingly.
