Yeah, and who came out with that number? The problem is that the actual effects of piracy are wildly different from what those who have a vested interest in preserving content rights claim they are - and theirs is by far the loudest voice in the piracy “debate”. They release all these figures claiming millions and billions in “lost sales” from pirates, but what does that term even mean? The whole discussion is rather one-sided, because there’s no real way to measure piracy losses objectively, and when we try, the content providers shout us down.
