re: #191 Gus

Unfortunately, if the conversation is about Hamas that is usually the case.

Friom the Hamas Charter to statements by Hamas officials the public record is replete with examples of racism (articles, audio, video, etc). Just this week, Meshaal categorically refused to recogniase Israel. vaguely referring to the ‘liberation of all of Palestine’. Last week he promised a third Intifada. How much of that is rhetoric? Probably most of it. But when you live next door it is far more difficult to be sanguine.

The PA’s ‘struggle’ is far less religious and more secular/political. As such there is far less religious bigotry.

That’s another reason there is so much fog- who speaks for the Palestinians? Can a independent Palestine tolerate two armed factions with very different agendas? Look at Lebanon with Hizbollah as state within a state.

And we haven’t even begun to discuss a (Hamas led) free state whose principal agenda who in their iown words, is the destruction of Israel.

Too many dysfunctional political agendas continue to cripple the Palestinian right to self determination. The average Palestinian pays the price- as usual.
