The above-photographed pie was my first attempt at the age-old family recipe. I have a follow-up photo with half of the pie missing. Needless to say, it was a rousing success.

I once made a vinegar pie, I believe it is also called “chess pie”

It was meh. OK I guess but not better or even as good as other pies.
