I gotta think that a fair chunk of Handel’s vote is motivated by the usual ‘coastal elites’ bullshit.

I think that’s a very legitimate question. If we, as political junkies, find ourselves getting burned out by the kind of incessant fundraising emails the Ossoff folks were sending out, imagine how thoroughly fried your average disengaged Georgia voter must be from nonstop TV ads, phonebank calls, direct mail and so on.

There’s a study to be done, by someone who’s more knowledgeable than I am, to figure out whether there’s a burnout point at which pouring ever more money into a race ends up keeping some voters away from the polls when you’d want to get them there.
