Youtube is becoming much more aggressive in labeling videos “age restricted”.

Some history youtubers are getting quite upset at this, for if they cover a war, especially WWII with Nazi images, Youtube is age restricting said videos.

I think this boils down to the issue that Youtube never implemented a rating system or content warning label package.

Here’s the problem: Youtube knows that neo-Nazi and violent right wingers lover to propagate and convert. But Youtube will not hire actual humans to sit and watch videos and notice that the content is not a recruitment video but simple reporting.

Trying to use AI systems instead of human moderators makes malicious flagging much more likely to work, too.

It’s really amazing how tech companies seem willing to try everything to stop the spread of extremism except things that would actually work.
