Call me cynical, but I think Jong-un is in charge of exactly two things: jack and shit. Daddy’s (and Granddaddy’s) generals have had a long time to carve up the power behind-the-scenes; I think they’d rather see the Korean Peninsula go up in a mushroom-shaped fireball than concede any real power and allow any real reform or reconciliation with the South.
