The law doesn’t have to be secret, just obscure enough that your eyes glaze over the wording. A friend of mine is writing a story where part of the plot turns on the real fact that the Duke of Cornwall is by law exempt from the legal restriction barring everyone else in Britain from firing off nuclear weapons as long as he does it on his own property.
