They want to protect their readership. If readership wants them to roll over on DT, then they roll.

I do not watch TV news. Every time I am exposed to it for any length of time (mostly while visiting family) I really notice how it is designed to kill brain cells.

I watch some local news but half of that time is spent promoting TV shows on the same network.
