The woman on the side after being scorned sends anonymous threatening e-mails to the mans wife. She in turn gets scared and goes to FBI. Boom done. They are just trying to keep her name out of it because it really doesn’t matter who she was as far as the fallout from this. At least not unless Broadwell gets formally charged with something.

They said woman #2 was not family, but worked at the CIA. (What I recall reading in Wapo today.)
