My old VW Passat was kind of like that before I got rid of it a couple years ago. The last straw was when trying to get it past the smog check turned into a medieval quest. As God is my witness I will never, ever own another turbo.

We have the $$ set aside for buying another car when a failed smog check or accident or whatever says I should. Or if I start driving enough that the advances in safety features over the past 20 years make sense to have.

But for the moment I will take the cheaper insurance. (I adore driving this car. It’s going to break my heart when it’s gone.)
