I had someone basically trying to sell me a fundamentalist/evangelical church in town for my son. I demurred politely thinking that my fundamentalism and biblical literalism hating son would last 10 minutes there if he was distracted for 9.

A couple of decades ago, I got invited to a local “non-denominational” church, back when I still lived stateside. I went, being the polite fellow that I am, and after the service, never went back and never really spoke much again to the person who invited me aside from generic pleasantries

Turned out to be a New Apostolic Reformation church. Hardcore fundies, biblical literalists, etc. Nope.
