Can’t the FCC require that anything calling itself “news” cannot have more than x% bullshit? A “no deliberate lying” policy would ruin Fox, without having to be specifically aimed at them. It might even make a dent in hate radio.

It’s a classic case of ‘who watches the watchmen’. Republicans are utterly corrupt, so they would either corrupt the FCC entirely or stop it from acting. They could also define ‘lying’ to suit their needs.

Bottom line is that government agency powerful enough to get Fox News and Hate Radio forcibly shut down is powerful enough to be a Ministry of Truth in GOP hands.
