The best behaved dog I ever saw out on the trail was happily trotting along off leash, and the instant he saw us coming towards him, he sat down and waited for his owner to snap his leash on and then they proceeded past us.

I used to let my dog run around on his own in the condo complex, or at the park, but when I clapped my hands he’d come right back. Didn’t even have to call his name, he recognized and obeyed the “c’mere” clap.
