Granted, culture plays a role. The Russians are not genetically destined to be chess champions. And if they drink enough, they won’t even be contenders. But it’s just scientifically wrong to assert that there is no evidence.

Let’s just say that I am a little dubious that it’s nature and not nurture, and that I do not like wandering down these sorts of paths, even if it might seem to be to the credit of my own little ethnic group.
