That’s why what the EU and NATO needs to do….now….is tell Putin, bluntly, that any act of aggression against Ukraine will be considered an act of war against a sovereign and independent naton, and responded to accordingly.

Then, you put NATO forces in Poland on alert, and send them right to the damn Polish/Ukrainian border. Furthermore, we have an aircraft carrier group in the Med, if I’m not mistake.

Send it right into the Black Sea for a little port of call at Sevastopol.

1. I’m unwilling to give the Ukraine a war guarantee. That nation’s independance is not worth going to war with Russia IMO.

2. Your naval idea is not possible because by treaty Turkey will not allow an aircraft carrier to pass through the Bosporus. Were Turkey to permit that, Putin would see that as a direct threat and the odds of war would grow greatly.

I respect you, Dr. L, but your idea is a really bad one.
